Mako Shark Corvette Diecast Metal Model
Mako Shark Corvette Diecast Model. When Bill Mitchell, the then head of GM Design, landed a shark during a deep sea fishing trip, it inspired the development of the Mako Shark 1 concept car. Larry Shinoda used the aggressive look and graded coloration of the shark to design the car that became known as the Corvette Shark. First debuted during a race weekend at Elkhart Lake in the summer of 1961 and officially displayed by Chevrolet for the first time at the New York Show in April, 1962, the Shark, like its namesake, caused a sensation! Highly detailed 1:18 scale diecast.
